He died in our place; we should have received what He willingly took upon Himself.
He alone was fit to do this, being without sin, being the Son of God, God in human flesh.
He alone was the only one worthy of not dying, being without sin, being the Son of God, God come in human flesh.
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. – 2 Corinthians 5:21 NASB
He died, and one the third day, He rose again from the grave.
What does this mean for us:
The cycle of death has ceased, since Jesus tasted it finally for all who will believe.
“But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.” – 1 Corinthians 15:20-22 NASB
Since we are free from the curse, and free from the power of sin in our lives, we can live free from sin; it no longer rules over us.
Since we have peace with God, we are his children and can act like it. He is our dad and we can ask Him to provide for us in every way.
We can depend on Him to care for us and watch out for us, lead us and change us into His image.
Eternal life has been extended to us!
We must believe in Jesus in order to receive His gift.
We must live according to the mandate we have been given to see the victory in our lives that Jesus has appropriated for us.
